Hurry! There's Still Time!

The 2012 IOV General Assembly will meet in Prague, Czech Republic as guests of the Folklore Association of the Czech Republic. Participants should arrive in Prague on April 26 and plan to depart on April 30, 2012. The General Assembly will convene on the morning of April 27, 2012 in the 16th Century Renaissance Martinicky Palace, located in the center of Old Town Prague, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Martinicky Palace dates from 1542 and is considered by many to be the finest Renaissance building in Prague. The closing ceremonies will take place on the evening of April 29th.

The following is the schedule showing arrival, departure and days scheduled for meeting. A detailed agenda will be on the web site soon.

General Assembly:

26 April: Arrival in Prague, dinner at Top Hotel
27 April: General Assembly
28 April: General Assembly
29 April: General Assembly
30 April: Departure following breakfast


121611-2A registration fee of $300 (per person, double room) will be charged each participant, with a $150 deposit due on December 15, 2011. Single rooms, while they last, will be available for an additional $80. After December 15, we cannot guarantee rooms will be available. The host during our stay in Prague will be the Folklore Association of the Czech Republic. Airport transfers, hotel accommodations, meals and transportation to and from the Martinicky Palace each day will be arranged by them. The conference hotel will be Top Hotel (www.top-hotel-prague.com).

After you submit your registration form, you will receive an acknowledgment from Rina Lazar, member of the organizing committee. The Official Invitation will follow once you have submitted all of the required information.

If you need a visa to enter the Czech Republic, you may request a letter of invitation to be sent to you by the Czech Folklore Association. Please request the letter from the Secretary-General’s office, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . European Union countries do not need a visa. Non-EU countries that do not need a visa are listed below.
