Jutta Widor, IOV Treasurer

jutta-widorJutta Widor, IOV Treasurer and member of the Presidential Council, was born in Loeben, Styria, Austria. Jutta studied languages at the University of Vienna and at the Sorbonne in Paris. After passing the examinations required to be an Interpreter, Jutta worked in this capacity for textile firms.

Jutta Widor married Dipl Ing. Mag Helmut Widor. Two years later, after the birth of her daughter, Jutta began working from home. She also worked as a freelance interpreter and for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Vienna. In 1997, began work at the Consulate of Mauretania in Vienna. It was here that she became acquainted with IOV Founder Alexander Veigl when the two met during a school project in Mauretania. Beginning in 1988, Jutta has worked continuously for IOV.

She is the representative for IOV Austria for Styria. In 2008, Jutta was elected to the IOV Presidential Council as Treasurer. Her responsibilities include preparing IOV Budgets and Financial Report, maintaining financial records, collecting and posting membership fees, working for the financial support of IOV, and managing the financial affairs of the IOV Secretariat.

jutta-widor-insert1Jutta has had a lifelong interest in Culture and especially international cultures prompted her to invite the musical ensemble “Dark Horse” from Mongolia for performances in Austria in 2006. The ensemble is directed by D. Munkhnasan (Nasaa), Chair of the IOV Commission on Performing Arts, and her husband who presented musical performances in Judenburg and Vienna. Playing musical instruments from the time of Ghengas Khan, the ensemble was a great success and received television coverage.

jutta-widor-insert2As a member of IOV, Jutta participated in the World Melody Festival in Mongolia with groups from Belgium, Turkey and Scotland. In May of 2007, she attended the IOV General Assembly in Athens and Volos, Greece and in 2009 she travelled to her first President Council Meeting, which was in Manila, Philippines. Jutta believes that cultural exchanges help bring people together supported the performances of the Brazilian folk group “Os Chimangos” from Cacapava do Sul, which visited Austria in May of 2009. The performances were highly successful and received excellent reviews in Austrian newspapers. Jutta records many of her memorable experiences with her camera and hopes visitors to the IOV web site will enjoy some pictures taken during the recent visit of "Os Chimangtos."
