Welcome to the first edition of YOUTH, an e-newsletter published by the IOV Youth Commission to keep all IOV members around the world informed about our
activities, projects, initiatives and events.

The Youth Commission was created in the 2007 General Assembly. Its goals are to integrate more youth in our international organization and get the
current young members more involved.

Now, more than ever before, the Youth will have a more active role in the IOV and in our world-wide efforts to preserve our intangible cultural heritage.

IOV Youth’s First Book

We are working very hard to complete our first publication. It will be a kids book with a travelling character or mascot that will showcase several cultures and traditions, as well as the IOV work in several regions around the world. It will be written, designed, illustrated and produced by young members of our organization from all over the world. It should be completed in the next few months; we will keep you updated. If you want your country to be included in the book as a destination for our travelling mascot, please send us an email and we will forward more information and details to submit a story.

Youth Congress and Events – Topics and Conferences

We will be planning several events throughout the year especially designed by and for the IOV Youth. In order to develop useful programs and content that is of interest to the IOV Youth, please let us know what you think should be important to discuss. Send topics, important issues, suggested conferences or speakers, as well as submit any workshop or conference you would like to host. Let us hear from you!

IOV Youth is looking for you! – Small Regional Events

We are looking for active IOV members to host small events, short conferences and workshops around the world for the Youth. We can assist in arranging participants and speakers, if you could arrange for meeting space and basic amenities for the participants, which will be small groups of up to 20.
