Word just arrived by email from Abu Dhabi, where the UNESCO Cultural Section is meeting, that IOV’s application for accreditation to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage has been approved.  Dr. Mila Santova, who heads the Bulgarian delegation and voted at this meeting, sent the message which reads:

Felicitations!!! IOV has UNESCO's accreditation now!

This is the culmination of a process that began many months ago .   IOV’s application, which consisted of nearly 450 pages detailing our accomplishments and mission,  with a list of  IOV’s expert personnel, was submitted on July 1, 2009.  More on this exciting development will follow soon.
